Nvidia CEO on the Artificial Intelligence Race
The rapidly growing computing demands of artificial intelligence are fueling demand for Nvidia’s chips and are even prompting Bitcoin miners to change course.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang noted that the need for computing power is rising sharply alongside advances in artificial intelligence. Speaking at a company event in Las Vegas, he described fierce competition across the industry and a race to reach the next stage of technological development.
Huang emphasized that the pace of change has accelerated dramatically since the emergence of modern AI models. Everyone is striving to reach the next level of capability as quickly as possible. According to him, the scale of computing required to train and run these models is increasing many times over year after year, which directly translates into growing demand for Nvidia’s graphics processors. Faster computation shortens the path to new breakthroughs.
The growing importance of AI is also affecting other sectors. In recent years, some Bitcoin mining companies have begun to use all or part of their resources for AI-related computing. This shift is driven in part by the rising difficulty of mining, as well as the opportunity to make better use of existing infrastructure and generate additional revenue beyond Bitcoin itself. Further growth in demand for computing power could strengthen this trend even more.
During his remarks, Huang also addressed Nvidia’s hardware roadmap. He announced that the next-generation Rubin and Vera platforms are already in full production and progressing on schedule. Designed to work together, these processors are expected to deliver up to five times higher AI computing performance compared with previous solutions.
