XRPL 3.2.0 Ahead of a Major Network Upgrade
XRPL activates an amendment requiring version 3.2.0. Older servers may become blocked.
The XRP Ledger network is preparing to activate the fixCleanup3_2_0 amendment. Node operators must install xrpld 3.2.0 or a newer version beforehand. Otherwise, their servers may no longer be able to operate correctly within the network.
XRPL introduces new rules through updates known as amendments. Each amendment must receive support from at least 80% of validators and maintain that level for 14 days. Servers running outdated software may not recognize the new rules. If that happens, they become amendment blocked until they are upgraded.
fixCleanup3_2_0 crossed the required threshold on July 15, 2026, receiving 85.71% of the votes. Its activation was scheduled for July 29 at 09:57:00 UTC, provided that validator support remained above the required level.
The network’s key validators were well prepared for the change. As of July 8, 31 of the 35 validators on the Unique Node List, or UNL, were already running version 3.2.0—around 89%. The UNL is a group of trusted network participants that helps the ledger reach consensus.
For most users, the upgrade should be virtually unnoticeable. Exchanges and wallet providers may introduce brief maintenance periods, while slower nodes could require additional time to resynchronize with the network.
