XRP Gains Support from Franklin Templeton

Roger Bayston, Head of Digital Assets at Franklin Templeton, has outlined a highly optimistic vision for the future of blockchain-based finance. He shared his perspective during an episode of Paul Barron’s podcast titled “Investors Quietly Swapping Their Cash for XRP Before the 2026 Liquidity Event”, where the discussion focused on shifts in the global financial system and the growing role of digital assets.

Bayston emphasized that traditional finance is not undergoing a simple evolution, but a deep structural transformation. In his view, blockchain technology enables significant cost reductions, simplifies settlement processes, and connects fragmented accounting systems that have dominated Wall Street for decades. For this reason, financial institutions are increasingly preparing for large-scale adoption of blockchain solutions.

Throughout the conversation, it was repeatedly highlighted that XRP is no longer seen solely as a speculative asset. According to Bayston, it serves an infrastructural role in institutional settlements and tokenized finance. Ripple continues to position XRP as a tool for fast and low-cost cross-border payments, while the XRP Ledger was described as a network designed primarily with payments in mind.

Franklin Templeton also pointed to XRP’s more than ten-year presence on the market and the scale of capital built around its ecosystem. These factors, Bayston noted, help establish institutional trust and are why the firm views XRP as part of a long-term strategy rather than a short-term investment.

Although the episode’s title suggests a quiet shift of capital into XRP ahead of a 2026 liquidity event, the discussion itself does not include any concrete declarations supporting such a scenario. Instead, Bayston focuses on long-term trends, such as the rapid growth of digital wallets, the expansion of tokenized assets, and the gradual migration of financial markets toward blockchain environments. In this context, XRP is positioned as a liquidity bridge between digital wallets, rather than as a component of a one-off market event.
