Samsung Plans to Bring Stablecoins to Galaxy Wallet

Samsung plans to add stablecoin support to Samsung Wallet. The announcement came after Galaxy Unpacked 2026 in London. Galaxy smartphone users could eventually be able to transfer tokens pegged to the US dollar. However, the company has not yet revealed a launch date, a list of eligible countries or which currencies will be supported.

Samsung sees stablecoins as a future form of digital value within its wallet. The company aims to bring payments, rewards and digital assets together in a single Galaxy financial ecosystem.

Samsung has already taken steps to expand access to cryptocurrencies. In 2025, Samsung Wallet users in the US gained access to Coinbase offers. At the time, the exchange said there were more than 75 million Galaxy users in the country.

The first practical step is the Samsung Galaxy Card. Customers in the US can apply for the card through Samsung’s channels and retail partners starting July 22. It is issued by Barclays US Consumer Bank and operates on the Visa network.

The card offers 5% cash back on Samsung product purchases, 3% on payments made through Samsung Wallet, 2% on streaming services and 1% on all other transactions. Customers can also receive a $200 bonus after spending $2,000 within the first 90 days.

Samsung is entering a highly concentrated market. DeFiLlama tracks stablecoins with a combined value of approximately $310.30 billion. Tether accounts for $184.15 billion, while USDC represents $74.35 billion. Together, USDT and USDC control 83.3% of the market.
