Hayes’ Forecast for 2026
Arthur Hayes believes that Bitcoin could reach $200,000 by 2026, driven by a return of liquidity from the Federal Reserve.
Arthur Hayes has once again sparked debate in the cryptocurrency market. The former CEO of the BitMEX exchange argues that Bitcoin has the potential to climb to $200,000 by early 2026. In his view, the key catalyst will be renewed liquidity from the Federal Reserve, the central bank of the United States.
Hayes’ outlook is not based on short-term price swings or media hype. Instead, he focuses on the bigger picture: liquidity cycles, credit expansion, and capital flows between different asset classes. Historically, Bitcoin has performed best during periods when central banks loosen monetary policy and inject more money into the financial system.
According to Hayes, declining inflation and weakening economic growth will eventually push policymakers to ease financial conditions once again. In the past, such environments have often led to strong rallies in the crypto market, with Bitcoin typically acting as the main driver. What matters most, he argues, is the direction of policy changes rather than the speed at which they are implemented.
The $200,000 price target is not arbitrary. Hayes points to Bitcoin’s limited supply, which grows more slowly after each halving. At the same time, demand continues to rise, fueled by institutional investors, ETF funds, and participants from around the world. An increasing number of large players now view Bitcoin as a macroeconomic hedge, similar to gold.
Another important factor is the market’s self-reinforcing dynamic. Rising prices attract attention, which in turn brings in more capital. Combined with the growing presence of institutions that invest on a long-term, large-scale basis, this could amplify the next major bull market.
Hayes emphasizes that Bitcoin should be seen as a long-term asset closely tied to monetary policy. His forecast is based on an analysis of market structure rather than pure speculation. In his opinion, the combination of macroeconomic forces, rising demand, and constrained supply creates a coherent path toward this ambitious price target.
