VERT and Ripple Set a New Standard
VERT and Ripple Set a New Global Standard for Blockchain Innovation in Brazil’s Financial Sector
Brazilian consulting firm VERT Capital is driving innovation in the country’s financial sector. In partnership with Ripple, the company is using blockchain technology to digitize pension funds, turning them into tokens operating on the XRP Ledger network.
According to Ripple’s announcement, VERT has completed its second blockchain-based asset issuance, with a total value of $40 million. In the next phases, this amount is expected to rise to as much as $190 million. The project aims to make public financial management more transparent, secure, and modern.
Through Ripple’s XRP technology and its EVM sidechain, all key events and transactions are recorded digitally, ensuring continuous access to data and full compliance with Brazilian financial regulations.
Digital Assets Instead of Paper Documents
Gabriel Braga, VERT’s Director of Digital Assets, emphasizes that integrating blockchain technology with the financial market creates fully digital instruments, not just electronic copies of existing ones. As he explains, this approach combines transparency, regulatory compliance, and programmability, which could greatly improve the functioning of the entire capital market in the future.
VERT is also working with BYX on the analysis and management of assets backed by pension funds. Both companies plan to launch additional tokenized fund issuances built on blockchain technology.
Brazil as an Example for the World
The collaboration between VERT and Ripple doesn’t end with this project. Both companies are participating in the LEAP program, led by Brazil’s Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM). The initiative seeks to demonstrate how blockchain can streamline securities trading, reduce supervisory costs, and connect diverse financial systems more efficiently.
Silvio Pegado, Ripple’s Managing Director for Latin America, highlights that Brazil is becoming a global example of how to safely introduce blockchain technology into real financial markets. According to him, projects like VERT’s tokenized credit platform prove that blockchain can work effectively in practice—not just in theory.
