Raskin’s Report on Trump and Cryptocurrencies
According to a report released by Congressman Jamie Raskin, Donald Trump and his family allegedly used their political influence to build enormous wealth through cryptocurrency projects. The document states that in the first half of 2025, profits from tokens connected to the Trump family exceeded $800 million, while the total value of their crypto assets reportedly climbed to $11.6 billion.
The report highlights the flow of money from foreign investors and business allies into projects linked to the Trumps. It also points to several administration decisions that appeared to favor the crypto sector, including shutting down the NCET, lifting sanctions on Tornado Cash, and quietly ending investigations into several major cryptocurrency companies.
Data included in the report further shows that among crypto firms, the largest donor to Trump’s inauguration was Ripple Labs, contributing more than $4.8 million. Robinhood Markets and Circle followed closely behind. According to the authors, some of these donors later benefited from actions taken by the administration.
The report concludes with a warning that the rapid accumulation of wealth by the Trump family exposes weaknesses in U.S. regulations governing the influence of money in politics—though parts of the crypto community still see Trump’s actions as a boost for the market.
