New Fed Report
The latest Beige Book shows moderate U.S. economic growth and a still-strong labor market.
The Federal Reserve has released its latest Beige Book report, offering an updated snapshot of the U.S. economy. The document is based on data collected from various regions across the country and provides insight into how businesses and institutions assess current economic conditions.
According to the report, which is based on information gathered up to February 23, 2026, overall sentiment about the future of the economy remains generally optimistic. Most regions expect moderate economic growth in the coming months.
Economic activity increased slightly or moderately in seven of the twelve regions analyzed. At the same time, the number of areas where the economy has remained unchanged or has started to weaken has grown. In the previous report, this applied to four regions; in the latest report, it applies to five.
The report also highlights developments in the labor market. Companies are still competing for workers, indicating that demand for employees remains strong. Wages are rising in most regions, although the pace of increases has been described as moderate. Businesses are raising pay only to a limited extent, mainly to attract or retain employees.
As for prices, moderate increases have continued in recent weeks. Eight regions reported moderate price growth, while in four regions the rise was described as slight to moderate.
Overall, the report suggests that the U.S. economy continues to expand, although in some regions the pace of activity is beginning to slow gradually.
