Ethereum Institutional Goes Live

Former Ethereum Foundation team launches a nonprofit to accelerate Ethereum adoption across financial institutions.

Ethereum Institutional Goes Live

The former team responsible for enterprise engagement at Ethereum Foundation has launched a new nonprofit organization called Ethereum Institutional. Its mission is to help banks, asset managers, investment funds, and other financial institutions adopt Ethereum technology while promoting the broader Ethereum ecosystem.

Operating as an independent nonprofit, Ethereum Institutional aims to become the primary point of contact for organizations exploring Ethereum, Layer 2 solutions, tokenization, stablecoins, and blockchain-based financial services. The organization will provide technical guidance, educational resources, and strategic support to institutions looking to build on Ethereum.

According to its founders, the team previously built Ethereum Foundation's enterprise engagement division from the ground up. During that time, they worked closely with hundreds of banks, asset managers, custodians, and financial infrastructure providers, helping them understand and implement Ethereum-based solutions.

Ethereum Institutional will focus on five core areas: institutional partnerships, market research, promoting Ethereum and ETH, gathering industry feedback, and organizing events that connect the ecosystem with the financial sector.

The initiative launched with backing from Bitmine, SharpLink, and Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin, who serve as its principal sponsors alongside a broader network of institutional and individual supporters.

The launch comes just weeks after Ethereum Foundation completed a major organizational restructuring, creating dedicated teams focused on protocol development, institutional engagement, community initiatives, and operations. Around the same time, Ethlabs was also established as an independent research and development center dedicated to advancing Ethereum technology. Together, these initiatives are expected to strengthen the network's long-term adoption and institutional growth.
