Revolut Sells AVAX
Revolut's $1.2 million AVAX sale failed to shake investor confidence as bullish market sentiment remains intact.
Revolut has sold 177,620 AVAX tokens worth approximately $1.2 million through Coinbase. The transaction sparked speculation about whether companies are beginning to rethink how they manage cryptocurrency holdings on their balance sheets.
However, a single sale does not necessarily signal a broader trend. The move could simply reflect profit-taking, reduced exposure to digital assets, or an adjustment to the company's treasury strategy. Only if more corporations follow suit could increased exchange supply begin to affect market liquidity.
Despite the high-profile transaction, spot market data remains stable. Exchange Netflows stood at - $1.04 million, indicating that more AVAX continues to leave exchanges than enter them. This suggests investors are still moving their tokens into private wallets rather than preparing them for sale.
At the same time, Revolut's transaction has not triggered a wave of deposits from other large holders. The market absorbed the additional supply without significant disruption, and exchange balances remained largely unchanged. If Exchange Netflows stay negative in the coming days, selling pressure is likely to remain limited.
Bullish sentiment also continues to dominate the derivatives market. On Binance, the Top Trader Long/Short Ratio reached 2.82, with 73.84% of top trader accounts holding long positions compared with 26.16% holding shorts. This suggests that many investors still expect AVAX to move higher despite Revolut's sale.
That said, such a strong imbalance in favor of long positions also increases the risk of sharp liquidations if more companies decide to reduce their cryptocurrency exposure. For now, the market remains optimistic, but another wave of large transfers to exchanges could quickly shift sentiment.
